ASARCO was organized in 1899 as American Smelting And Refing Company. Originally a consolidation of a number of lead-silver smelting companies, the Company has evolved over the years into an integrated producer of copper, and other metals. The Mission ore body was discovered in 1953 and developed in 1959. The Mission Complex is an open-pit mine composed of the Mission, Eisenhower, Pima, Mineral Hill and South San Xavier properties and the nearby North San Xavier mine. The current pit, 2.5 miles long by 1.5 miles wide and 1,200 feet deep, is situated on 20,000 acres. Benches are 40 feet high. The Complex mines over 150,000 tons/day. Over 46,000 tons of ore is processed through the concentrators per day, producing over 70,000 tons of copper and 1,100,000 Troy Ozs of silver in concentrates every year. |

Pathways out of Depression, provides short term assistance in the form of an assessment and a written evaluation in which a course of action is mapped for individuals to feel energized and active again. Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) is a safe as well as fun environment for adults needing daytime assistance; our program offers cognitive and physical activities. While the caregiver has some respite, participants can expect a hot noon meal with two snacks, entertainment, including programs with the pre-school and nursing supervision. Transportation is available. Los Ninos del Valle is an Arizona state-licensed childcare center offering daycare for children 24-36 months and preschool for children 3-5 years for 10 1/2 hours a day, Monday-Friday. A thematic curriculum, structured play and professional care are provided along with intergenerational programming with volunteers and clients from our Adult Day Care and Senior Lunch programs. |
